Old House. Brown Dog

I almost can't believe I am saying this, but the cabin is pretty much done you guys. After just shy of three years and a whole lotta blood, sweat, and money we are done with all of our renovations. Don't get me wrong, there is still plenty to do, but the list we set out to accomplish is all checked off.  What we've done: Repaired the rotten rim joists in the foundation Repaired and re-painted the exterior Repainted the interior Mold mitigation (the only project that i hated; well demo of the floors was bad too) New Floors throughout (except the bathroom) Replaced the tile behind the wood stove New Kitchen Updated the bathroom Shed facelift Build a friggen 700 Sq Foot deck! What we hired out: The septic system, obviously  The French drain and block foundation repair Radon thingy (some tube on the side of the house that allegedly prevents cancer) Natural gas installation and new furnace (coming soon!) What's left: Some decor; it's like 80% there, but still needs a few...

In my last post, I mentioned that we had almost finished our big deck project. Well I am happy to report it is now 100% done. In fact it has been for quite some time, I am just a bad blogger so I forgot to tell you guys. This was by far the most intense and expensive project we have tackled, but it is also the most rewarding. I honestly can't f-ing believe we built it when I pull into our driveway. The views are out of this world. I yearn for the summer when I can plan to host a Pinterest inspired dinner party, but then wind up having too much wine and dropping the appetizers and burning the main course (it will happen). Here are some photos, but they really don't do it justice. You have to have a PBR in one of the Adirondacks to really appreciate it.
